Travel Tuesday

Hello from France!! We arrived on Saturday. The airport was packed! It took us two hours from the time we landed to the time our driver picked us up, to get through passport control, pick up our luggage and clear customs. 

They are so stringent about Covid—you can’t even enter the country without proof of vaccination. You have to wear masks and show those vaccination cards everywhere (sightseeing and ALL restaurants). But then, in the airport—where they have markings on the floor and signs everywhere to social distance, you are crammed in like sardines! Since we’re vaccinated, we’re feeling fine about it.

We spent several whirlwind days before boarding the boat for our cruise today (Tuesday). Come to find out, on a boat that accommodates 150 people, there are only 32!! Thirty two!! And we're 4 of them! That’s unbelievable! There are more crew than there are guests! Looks like we’re going to be having a private cruise and private tours! I’ll bet they’ll be treating us like royalty! Works for us. No wonder we were able to get the “Royal Suite!"

One thing I'd forgotten about France. There are a lot of smokers here. A. Lot. Luckily, no smoking allowed on the boat. Maybe there's a smoking area on the top deck or something. 

I'm not even going to start with the pictures yet. There's just too much to say and do.
