A Few More Pages

Just thought I'd post a few more scrapbook pages that I've done recently.

Oh My Gosh!!! Short of posting each picture separately, I cannot get them to go in the order I want them to. Okay, posting one at a time---I guess. What a hassle! I really do not like this new Blogger platform. Oh well, what can I expect for free?!!

This is my layout for our every other month "round robin" where we each do a layout for someone else. I was thrilled to do a vintage layout where I could use some cabinet cards, mini doilies (I put a brad in the middle), vintage ledger paper, milk caps and some mini "dolly" books.
Karolyn did this layout last month for me. She even made that little graduation hat with the tassel. The tassel is homemade too!! That's part of the fun of our "round robin" layouts---new ideas and techniques. We tend to spend more time on the layout for someone else.
In 2019, we had three graduations in one month---all three of Sandy's---Elizabeth 8th grade---Victoria high school---Mitchell college. Here's two out of three.

I needed to make a couple tags to let people know that this layout contains a couple fold outs. Also, I used the actual map as part of the background. I circled the places we visited.

Here you can see the layout fully open.
When I finished the layout above, I decided to make a few extra clips with the scraps laying on my table. So easy to do. That should save a little time the next time I need one.

This layout was for AYM. I added a pocket for extra pictures and did a quilt pattern to incorporate the patterned paper. I mounted the journaling on top of the Chatsworth map from our trip. If you look closely at the pocket on the right, you'll see I made a few clips using
washi tape.
"Tea and Tales" is what we called our book club trip to England. It had been a long time since I used the paint technique on a transparency. When you dab the paint behind it, not only does it make the print stand out, it acts as an adhesive.
This is the kit for AYM next month. I'm excited to play with it!! I have ideas!

Some Scrapbook Layouts

It was about a month ago that I was on my sister's crop. I did 17 layouts. That's about average for me.
Now this is what I'm looking at---from the past year.
There are about 50 layouts here---probably more. I need to get them in albums.

Here are some of the layouts I did. I'm dividing them in half.
The. most interesting thing about this layout is that I aquatinted myself with journaling in the round again! I hadn't done that in forever. I have to do it more often to remember how.
This layout is about all the things Butch does for his girls---while making us laugh at the same time! Just an example: Mindy asked him to buy her a suitcase from one of his favorite stores. When she came over to get it, he got down and showed her all the zippers and pockets. Mindy looked at me and said, "wow, I didn't know I needed suitcase lessons!"
The journaling is hidden in that pocket. Technology is here to stay!
This layout is about our cars and a little side note. That being, that when I'm at a stop light and look around, all I see are foreign cars. I wish more people would buy American Made. At lease my descendants will know that was important to me. The journaling is in the pocket.
"She could always walk all over him"---that says it all!
I did this layout for our round robin. I'm still waiting on the journaling. That's one thing you will see on EVERY layout I do---the story. After all, I consider myself a storyteller! First and foremost.
It's not often that we are all in St. Louis at the same time. Worth noting.
I'm slowly scrapbooking layouts from trips past. This one from 1990.

Speaking of storytelling, I was all exited to be taking a writing class with Mindy. I was so disappointed that it was cancelled due to lack of interest. I guess in today's world of rapid technology, the written word is low on the totem pole. Sure, I love my technology. But this blog is probably the most satisfying thing I do. I no longer have it made into a book at the end of the year. When it was just one volume, that was fine. But now it takes at least two. That's way too many books. Just like my scrapbooks. I have way too many now. I'm definitely slowing down on those too. But as far as my blog goes, I'm pretty sure I'll keep doing it as long as I have something to say.

And I always have a lot to say!

A Few Layouts

Well, I missed going to the farm for our spring scrapbook retreat last week. There was just too much going on that needed my attention. Still, I have several pages to share from the LAST time we went at the end of February. Here goes:
"Redecorating the girls rooms" is about the job I did for Stephanie in January 2016. She gave me a budget of $1000 for both rooms. I pulled it off---bedding, windows, art, bedside tables, lamps and knick knacks.
"Eads Family Vacation" 2016---at the beach.
I like to have plenty of title and/or end pages ready to go when I start putting albums together. This is another version with washi tape.
This is one of my AYM pages: "Heres one you might like: while searching for our roots, we missed the train!" This layout is about our sister's trip to Italy last spring. Side note: I leave tomorrow for our first sister's trip to the beach.
"Can you tell she doesn't like getting her picture taken?" This layout is about how Jordan frowns whenever you try to take her picture. She's been doing it since she was a baby. I love layouts like this where you can see tendencies through the years all on one page.
This is another one along those lines. "She likes her jewelry" shows Mindy through the years. I have to say, I started it. When she was a baby, I put a little beaded bracelet on her and never took it off!
Another AYM: "And then I said...you've got to be kidding me!" I say that a lot, but on this layout, it's in reference to Stephanie telling me that she backed my Solstice in to Nicky's car. I told the story of the gas shortage last September. When Steph couldn't get gas, I loaned her the Solstice (the car I've been keeping for an investment and trying to keep low mileage on it).
Here's a close-up of the pocket. It has window where I put the subtitle. It contains my journaling.
This is the layout I did for Karolyn for our round robin: "Little Rascals." Normally, we trade the layouts around every month. When I was the first one to get these pictures, I just knew I wanted to complete the entire layout. I've had these splat stamps forever and have rarely been able to use them. I loved making this layout. There were a lot of pictures, so I used washi tape to make a little flip album on both sides.
Here's another layout: "Fall Outing" where I used washi tape to adhere lots of pictures. It's my favorite thing to do rather than making the page look too busy.
"#I'm the Boss" is about me and my little sister, Jeanne. Most of the time, she lets me be the boss---but not always!
"Sister Style" is a layout about Stephanie and Mindy. I'm doing various sister pages for each of their albums (Sandy's too).

That's about it for now. I haven't done much scrapbooking lately. I miss it!

A Few Layouts

Here are a few of the layouts I did on our sister's crop a few weeks ago.

I am not a particularly artistic scrapbooker. I rarely use ink or stamps. My formula is: pictures, title, story. Then if there's room, embellishments. My main goal is telling the story. I pretty much always have a lot of pictures.

The flip flop to the left is a fold out to accommodate more photos.
 The little book opens out.
This was my AYM (A Year of Memories) layout for January. I took this one straight from my blog: "Let me tell you about my stockpile issues!"

I finished quite a few more, but since we didn't have a printer, the journaling is not done. I'll share when I finish them.

A Few Layouts

It's been quite awhile since I've posted any scrapbook pages. Here ya' go:
When it came to the sister-in-law lottery, I hit the Jackpot! This layout is about my sil Janet and is the truth! She's the best!
This isn't FUNNY--- is about my sister's intervention with her dogs that nearly cost her---her finger.
Son-in-law status---is about how my son-in-laws fight over me. Okay, they don't really, but I like to pretend that they do! They just are all very thoughtful towards me and it's become a competition (in my mind)!
Let me tell you about my girlfriends---about my high school crew.
He's the BEST at taking care of his girls---about Butch and all the things he does for us.
My time to SHINE---about the volunteer award I received from the National Association of Fund Raising Executives back in 1994.
How could something so SIMPLE be so hard?--about my new bike and all of my falls.
I designed a Christmas album this year for all of my friends. All they had to do was to add their own pictures and stories. I kept all of the pages very simple. "Handing out the presents." A simple patchwork.
Setting the Christmas table---a few 4" squares cut on the diagonal.
All Wrapped Up---the title is on a glitter star. I couldn't get anything to stick to it---the letters were adhesive backed, but that didn't work. I tried my little X and glue dots. Nothing worked. Then I came upon with the idea of just using tape. After all, it's a page about wrapping presents. What could be more appropriate?
This is the end page of our AYM (A Year of Memories) album this year. I cut this paper for everyone and totally botched it---several times! I was determined to use it anyway. Nothing meets up as it should. I just used the quote block to cover the mess!
