Mindy has decided that she wants to stay in New Orleans. She's still at Emeril's flagship restaurant and the base for his "empire". She would like to work with them on the corporate level and has told the HR "guy" that she'd go to any of their offices---Miami, Las Vegas or Atlanta (I'll keep my fingers crossed for Atlanta). In the meantime, she's making decent money and is eligible for health benefits. She's doing a lot of babysitting to supplement her income too.
I hate that her "need to work to support herself" interferes with our family plans. She's had to cancel for our trip to Indy over Memorial weekend. Butch says that I'm a hard woman. Sure, I'll admit---I'd love to say "okay Mindy, come with us for our family "stuff" and I'll pay you what you would have made working". As much as I might like to do that, it wouldn't be good for her---plus, I doubt her employer would be happy with that arrangement. At least she will be with us on our family vacation in July. Luckily, I can get my Mindy "fix" by iChatting!
I guess I'll just have to go down there to see her now and then. Anyone want to go with me?

I'll urge for Atlanta, too since that will be close to me. Then we would get to see you more, too, since I know you will be visiting Mindy often and I can guilt you into traveling the extra 2 hours to see us!
ReplyDeleteAs for going to New Orleans this summer? Count me in! I am free all summer - no kids and no house. I was planning on spending some time at Hotel Barb's anyways! But this time, I want to do some of the historical stuff.
