Seen on My Walk

I noticed on my walk, this under a tree. There's Virginia Creeper--the 5 leaves. Mixed in is poison ivy. You always expect to see poison ivy in the woods or weeds---not in someone's front yard!
This is some sort of cocoon. It actually looks like there are two of something in there. I have no idea what they will be.
I'm not sure what this is, but it was on the edge of a lawn. I'm pretty sure one of the mower trucks must have dropped it.

I'm enjoying listening to podcasts while walking. I've had to abandon my talks on my walks because I can't think of anybody I can call that early!! I went out one morning at 5:45. I have to get out before 7 as the humidity and heat have hit with a vengeance!

It's so hot!! As I was on the last leg of my walk, I was coming up the long, slow hill near my house. About half way up, there is a mailbox that I stop at. I take a break, breathe deeply and bend over to stretch out my back. This is the only part of my walk that is shady. While I was bent over, the gal who lived there approached me and asked if I was okay! I immediately straightened up and said, "yes, this is just where I take a breather during my walk! But, thanks for asking!!" I thought that was so nice. On the other hand, it did make me feel a little old. But, you just never know when you might actually need help!

  1. Good for you on the early walks; we've pledged to do that too, but it will require hubby getting up earlier than usual. If he proves unable to make that adjustment, I will just walk up and down our lane instead of going to the fairgrounds. And you have just reminded me to have my camera ready (now that I have my phone back.)
