I Knew It!

I'm going to the 'Antiques Roadshow'! I knew it! I just knew I would get picked. So much so that the minute after I applied, I told Butch, "I'm going to the 'Antiques Roadshow'! He gave me that look when I get so excited about something. You know the one, the roll the eyes like, "here she goes again!" Let me explain.

I saw where AR was coming to Nashville. I went online to find out more. Then I clicked on "apply to be on the show." I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that I would get picked! How could I be so certain? This:

The Marie Antoinette chair! How could I NOT be picked? Certainly the Antiques Roadshow would like the opportunity to see something like this!! From the late 1700's no less!

I was allowed to submit two things for consideration. So, I picked this as my second thing:

This was my great-grandmother's punch bowl. I would like to know if she brought it with her from Italy when she came over on the "boat" around 1912 or so. I'm not sure how AR could figure that out since there do not appear to be any markings. Still, maybe they might know something about it.

That leads me to last week. I got an email that I was selected and could bring one guest!! I knew it. I immediately called my friend, Nancy--who gave me the chair and said, "We're going to the Antique's Roadshow!" 

In addition, she is going to be allowed to bring two items. The only catch is you have to be able to carry your items all day. Okay, I'm not gonna' lie. That punch bowl is heavy--heavier than the chair! I'll figure it out. 

I'm just so excited. Like I told Butch, I knew when I sent in the application that I would get picked. Call it the power of positive thinking. I don't think so. I think it's the power of the item you have to show! 

Now, I'm not sure that means I'll actually be on the show. But if I am--which I'm pretty sure I will--You'll be the first to know when it airs!!
