Scrapbook Saturday

Just thought I'd share a couple layouts I did for A Year of Memories (AYM). This year, we're doing a book of favorites. Each month someone chooses the topic. 

Jeanne picked My favorite drink. Of course I couldn't be limited to just one. Tea is definitely my number ONE. A dirty martini is my favorite alcoholic beverage---at the moment. Then, my favorite guilty pleasure is Bailey's and hot chocolate.

On the martini glass, I did the very old iris folding technique. Obviously, I forgot how to do it and nearly ruined the glass that Jeanne cut for us.

Karolyn picked this topic which I thought was really appropriate. She even sewed a paper mask. Pretty clever! This is a fun way to remember this crazy time. Everyone will remember where they were and what they did in 2020 for sure!!

Friday Funnies

The K-9 meeting was abruptly interrupted when someone opened a Cheetoh bag!!

Five Things Thursday

The magnolias are gorgeous this year---I should have put something in the picture so you could see that the blooms are dinner plate size!!

Kid Rock's Honky Tonk on Broadway was fined for having too many people inside. No social  distancing going on here!!

 Of course Butch would catch two big bass without me!! 

 As it turned out, they were the only two he caught. I'm sorry I wasn't there to see it!

I went to my favorite nail salon---Venetian last week. This lot is almost always full! One lone car---and whoever it belongs to wasn't even in Venetian!!

I finished this piece a couple weeks ago. Now I have to wait until my favorite pillow maker  goes back to work!! This is going to be a surprise for someone near and dear to me!!

What I Buy Wednesday

As if I haven't accomplished enough during the quarantine, I've decided to teach myself "brush lettering." I'll have to share how it goes. 

I bought a couple other things, but they are Father's Day gifts and don't want to spoil the surprise!

Monday Mystery

All of a sudden, my Facebook page was gigantic. 

I couldn't see anything on the sides! I closed out. I re-opened. I re-started my computer. I even shut it down. Nothing worked. 

Then I went to my tech gurus by emailing Stephanie and Mindy. Both said they couldn't help me because they only use their phone for Facebook. 

So, I did what I always do when I need to find something out: I looked it up via the internet. Here's what I found:

Click the drop-down box next to "Page Zoom" under the "Web Content" section.  What??? Set the zoom to "100%." FTS! Alternately, you can press the keyboard shortcut of "Ctrl" and "0" to return Facebook to its original viewing size. WTF?

There are so many things wrong with this. I started by following the instructions. I looked everywhere to find "Page Zoom" or  “Web Content”—couldn’t find either, so couldn't re-set the "zoom" to 100%. The last thing, “press Ctrl and O”---worked immediately.

Why would that not be the first thing to do? It’s certainly faster!!! Why would they even need to mention the first part at all? Keep it simple!!

Still, the mystery remains as to how that happened to begin with. I have a feeling it's just one more problem with my computer. 

Another annoying thing that has just started to happen, I have to hit the space bar two or three times to get it to actually space. I'm a really  fast typist, so that is really slowing me down. As soon as I finish this, I'm going to re-start my computer to see if that helps!

Butch's Birthday

We celebrated on Thursday night at the club. It's the first time we've been to Richland since before the quarantine. Butch has played golf, but the club was closed like everything else. It just reopened a couple weeks ago. 

We ended up having the entire dining room to ourselves. Everyone else was sitting outside. We took a minute to step outside and get some pictures. I wish we'd realized that the lighting was not so good. Oh well.

We had a really nice dinner and ended with this:

They call it the polka dot brownie. Fancy!!

It was fun to be back at Richland. But really fun to be with the family.
