Jordan and Robbie are ENGAGED!!
My first granddaughter--I love this girl so much!
They designed the ring and had it made in LA. It's a ruby set on the diagonal with diamonds.
Japan was the perfect setting for them. Jordan loves it--she had one of those college classes where she was there for two weeks and couldn't wait to go back. This was Robbie's first time. They went to 4 different cities and loved it all.
We are all so happy for them. We love Robbie, and he's already a member of the family. We can't wait to celebrate with them in January when they make it official!!
Robbie "popped the question" while they were in Japan.
Amidst the cherry blossoms--they planned their trip to be there at that time. It looks gorgeous. They designed the ring and had it made in LA. It's a ruby set on the diagonal with diamonds.

Speaking of engagements, I want to give a "shout-out" to another cute couple.
Nick and Analise. Analise is the granddaughter of my BFF, Connie. I've known this little girlie since she was born. Her mom, Amanda is a sweetheart and so is Analise!
I have not met Nick yet, but from what I hear, he's a great guy. He proposed on Mexico Beach in Florida--at her grandparents' place, where I just spent the past week with Connie and our friends.
This is the FaceTime photo from the call she had with Connie and Amanda when she broke the good news. They have set a date around Easter of next year.

It looks like 2026 is going to be a very happy year!!
Engagements are a BIG deal these days. There seems to be destinations involved.
Hmmm. These engagements have caused me to reminisce back to my proposal from Butch.
It was some random Wednesday night. He was working his second full-time job--the night shift at the local public television station. We were on the phone in the middle of the night--I helped to pass the time. On this particular night, he said, "You know, I've been thinking...I think two can live as cheaply as one--do you want to get married?"
Yep, he did! Just like that! He always was a romantic devil!! No ring, no getting down on one knee, no "I love yous"--just him, presenting himself pure and simple.
I said, "okay"--and that was that! We never looked back and here we are nearly 54 years later--probably not living as cheaply as one, but still happy! He's definitely made up for that lame proposal. I think he owes me a trip--oh wait, he takes me on trips all the time!
I actually love this story. It's part of us and our history!! And you know how I feel about memories!!
Gosh, did I just make this about me? Ooops! Well it is "Me on Monday!" Just kidding.
Congrats--girls! I hope you are as happy 54 years from now as you are right now!
How exciting! I absolutely love that ruby ring, it's so unusual. Congratulations to them all.
