This house is going up very near us. As I've passed by it, I started to think about how ugly the brick is. Then it dawned on me---I'm pretty sure they are planning to paint it. If you are going to paint brick, then I guess it doesn't matter what colors of brick you use. As a matter of fact, it might be really cheap to buy all the leftover random brick this way.
Now the mystery to me is---what color are they going to paint it? The upper part is so dark, that white might look "funny." I could see using a color--like blue or something. Or maybe they plan to use a medium gray. That might look nice.
I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens. I'll let you know when the mystery is solved!
My goodness, I can't imagine tearing down a house just to build another ... I'm reminded of a saying of my Granny's: 'Some people have more money than sense" :). I quite like the mottled brick myself but perhaps not with the grey above. Maybe they'll paint it white? Do let us know!
