...the infusion clinic.
I've been going once a month for just about 3 years now. This past week, I noticed that they finally put a sign up about NOT using your cell phone while in there.
FINALLY!!! Other people on their cell phones is so annoying. I don't care where it is---even the grocery store. I don't want to have to listen to your conversation! Sit in your car until you are finished!
Well, it was getting really bad at the infusion clinic. Anybody that goes there has to be there for a length of time. Luckily for me, it's just under an hour now compared to the 2 and a half hours it was in the beginning.
Even though there is a light curtain dividing the "recliners," you can hear everything that is going on. People were on their phones constantly. So much so that it was distracting to me who is quietly trying to read my book. But the worst is the woman around my age who brings her two young grandchildren with her. She seems to think that by having them sit there with their iPads is enough. They play games with loud annoying sounds. They keep asking the nurses to "watch this" as if the nurses have all the time in the world. Then there's the noisy snacks!
OMGosh! Seriously! I get that she is the babysitter, but for crying out loud---get someone to watch the kids while you are at the clinic. It certainly isn't fun for them---or anyone around them!! It's just so rude and inconsiderate.
I complimented the nurses for putting up the sign---loudly so that the woman sitting next to me might have to struggle to hear as SHE'S TALKING ON HER CELL PHONE!
Apparently signs don't matter either!

You sound very frustrated! Hoping it improves soon, Can you take some headphones and listen to something of your own?
ReplyDeleteSeems like people are too scared to turn off their phone nowadays! Makes me wonder how we made it through when the only phone we had was attached by a wire to the inside of your house!
ReplyDeleteMy worst pet peeve is people who bring their phones into a public restroom and have a conversation while they are peeing! I really feel like that is an invasion of MY privacy. If they don't know it, the people on the other end of the conversation can hear their bodily functions.....I'm appalled!
