Saturday

Let me tell you---we had the best time on Saturday. We did something that we locals never do if we can help it! We went downtown! Downtown Nashville is craaazzzyyy! There are so many tourists, you would think we were a big city like New York! The pedal taverns and party barges were in full swing and it was only 9:30 a.m.!

Anyway, Stephanie arranged for us to do a scavenger hunt. It took us about 3 hours and was approximately 2.5-3 miles. It wouldn't have taken quite that long, but we encountered a little rain, so we took shelter in the Tennessee Performing Arts building until it passed.

Basically, you "purchase" the right to do the hunt for $35.00. Then you have access to an app on your phone. Everything is on the phone. Greg was the navigator. Jordan manned the paper and pen. It took us all over town.
One of our first activities took us to our own walk of stars. Sandy had to pose with Kid Rock. The people honored with these stars are those who have had an influence on music here.

Once we moved away from Broadway and all the honky tonks, the crowd disappeared. Of course, this was heading up to capitol hill. Tourists are not interested in our government!

 The crowds!
You're never too old to rock a guitar in Music City!
Every bar and honky tonk has live music starting early. It really is and exciting city. It's kind of fun to be part of the hubbub!

The scavenger hunt was so much fun! In fact, I'm planning to get my friends together to do it. You actually compete for prizes. We had done pretty well, but now I don't remember what place we were in. We started at 9:30 and left downtown around 12:30 p.m. We decided that with 11 people we would not be able to find a place for us.

We went to Nashville West to a pizza place called NY Pie. They had delicious New York style pizza. And they let us push two tables together! Always a plus!

We got home about 2:30 and immediately started with the games. The guys watched football while we girls played.

Analise re-joined us around 4 (she had volleyball). I took the girls to get their nails done. Then it was back to the house for more games. This time, the guys played. We wrapped up the evening around 10 since Sandy and Greg wanted to get on the road early on Sunday morning.

It was a short weekend, but we managed to cram a lot in to it. It will only be a week and a half until I see Sandy and family again. I'm going to Charlotte to stay with the girls while Sandy and Greg meet up with Stephanie and Nicky in Savannah, GA for a long weekend. Then Thanksgiving will be here before you know it!
