I'm Home!

We ended up coming home from our scrapbook retreat a day early----just as well since I leave again tomorrow for my Paula Dean cruise in the Caribbean.

In the meantime, I'll leave you with a few of the 16 layouts I did this week while watching season 1 & 2 of Call the Midwife. OMGosh!! It is the BEST!!! At the end of season 2, it looked like the series was over. I was actually depressed. Luckily, it continues. I'm not sure when season 3 starts up. I'll have to set my DVR.

The layouts:
This is the title page for my Scavenger Hunt album.
 December photo scavenger hunt page.

This page shows the log cabin quilt squares I demonstrated for one of my groups. In this case, I used 1/2" paper strips. Washi tape might work and would certainly be easy---but sometimes it curls up and won't stick.
On this layout, I demonstrated how you can use anything as inspiration. Notice the "1983" title banner? That came from a box Vera Bradley stationary---it was the band around the box. I used it as a template. I see scrapbook potential in all kinds of junk.
This page is about the button trees we made. Of course, I had to include a little button tree on the page.
""Changing Jobs" is about Stephanie and a few highlights in her career. Notice the little button cluster?
I hand stitched across the tops of the buttons. It's not my original idea---I saw it in a magazine somewhere.

When I got home, I got a surprise in the mail. I'll share that tomorrow!
