Shopping Discoveries

I had a bunch of errands to run on Saturday.
I specifically went to Hobby Lobby for wrapping paper.
It's the best. I was going to have to buy at least one roll whether it was on sale or not as I need to get some gifts wrapped to take to Sandy's at Thanksgiving. Luckily, ALL Christmas was 50% off.
The paper is really thick on long rolls. You can see there is a lot on the roll. I would have sworn I had some left from last year. One thing I've noticed, the styles are pretty much the same from year to year.
While at HL, I noticed these cute dishes---50% off. The salad plates are about $4.00 each.
Pretty cute. Love the plaid truck and camper.
Hobby Lobby also has ALL of their fall and Thanksgiving dishes and decor on sale for 50% off. These are the copper plates I used on my dining room table as chargers. On sale, they are around $3.00. They have red ones for Christmas too.
I love these square salad plates and platter. Also on sale---really cheap. I don't need anymore myself.
All of the tablecloths are on sale too. Now that I think about it, I might have gotten my plaid one here.
Cute salt and pepper shakers. I just bought another set at Christmas Village.
I really like the large dinner plates too. I don't have any fall dinner plates, but I also don't want to have to store them. I have a set of clear plates that I use anytime to coordinate for the seasons. Best investment I've ever made.
I stopped at Walmart and saw these cuties. And the price is incredible!
Same here. Love them all! I don't need any Christmas dishes, but I am a sucker for them.
Still, I didn't impulse buy a thing. That's really good for me. I am the worst when it comes to impulse buying. I don't need a thing, but I like stuff!
The platters are really gorgeous. This took a good bit of willpower on my part. I keep reminding myself that I am CLEANING OUT!
The poinsettia place mats are really cute too.

If you are in the market for some fun, holiday themed dishes check these out. I have not been to
Pier 1 but they always have really nice things too.

I've hauled down some of the Christmas decorations this weekend. I'll be decorating before we go to Sandy's for Thanksgiving. I like coming home to Christmas. Plus, if I don't get it done, it puts a bit of a damper on Thanksgiving, knowing I'm facing it when I get home. I went to Steph's on Sunday to give her a hand so she can be finished too.

Isn't it the most wonderful time of the year?

  1. Thanks for the tip on the HL Christmas wrapping paper. I need to pick up some but I hate cheap flimsy paper. When hubby was working, we'd get a box of heavy duty wrap including bows and tags from a packaging company his company worked with every year in early December. I miss that.

  3. I feel as if I have been round with a guide :). We don't have Hobby Lobby here, so it's very interesting to see what is being sold. You are way ahead of me on the Christmas front! We will have the Advent candle, calendar and an Advent wreath on the front door but nothing else until the week before Christmas ... You sound very organised :).

  4. We just got a HL a few years ago and what a treat it is. Thanks for taking us along. I'm loving vintage trailers, have no idea why, never been in one. But I think they are so nostalgic and beautiful. Love the plaid truck with the Christmas tree hauling the vintage trailer. I think I NEED that.
    Sending blessings,
    Marlene
