What's Happenin'!

Outside my window: The weekend is supposed to really warm up. I hope so, since my internet friend, Cheri is going to be in town with her sister. I'll be meeting up with them on Tuesday to give them a little tour of Nashville. I'll be taking them to lunch at the famous Loveless Cafe

I am thinking: Of my Five Things list that I want to accomplish over the weekend. I've always got a list.

I am thankful for: Joanie, my friend and hairdresser. I don't know what I'd do without her!! She always fits me in somewhere.

From the kitchen: I'm making tuna casserole for dinner. I haven't made it in probably 15 or 20 years since Butch doesn't like it. But, I've been thinking about it. Mindy is going to have it with me. I'll make Butch a grilled cheese sandwich. He'll be fine with that.

I am hoping: Saturday is going to be fun. I received an invitation for Overbrook School's 20th anniversary of their dinner/auction. They are honoring the past chairs. I chaired the auction part once and the actual event---three times---nearly all those 20 years ago. I hardly recognized any of the names on the list of past chairs. It's going to be interesting to see how the auction is now compared to the "olden" days when we did everything by hand. These days, you register and pay online as well as bid online. We shall see....I hope it doesn't feel too "commercial."

I am reading: The Goldfinch. I'm only 300 pages in to it and it's nearly 800 pages. Our book club meets on the 24th. I always wait until closer to book club to read my books so I have half a chance of remembering them!

I am busy creating: I did get the March AYM kits together---just have to write the handout. Then I want to get my Project Life album caught up.

I'm bummed: That I have not heard back from Cricut. I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I think it's going to require another long phone call.

I am hearing: Classic Rock on the tv.

Around the house and garden: Aunt Marie gave me some old photos a few months ago for me to scan. When I told her I was bringing them back, she said I could keep them. I bought 2 "new" old antique frames a couple of weeks ago. Butch took them apart for me and I've gotten them all cleaned up. I want to get the pictures in them and hung on my gallery wall---where there is actually no room left. I'm going to put them on another wall. I'll share a picture when I get them up.

In other news: We've been pretty consistent with our "Movie Mondays" or sometimes it's on Tuesdays. I've gotten to see more movies this year than probably the last 10 put together. Ahhh, retirement....

One of my favorite things right now: I don't think I've ever mentioned how much I love my Ahave hand cream from the Dead Sea. My friend, Linda introduced me to it when we were in the Holy Land a couple of years ago. Now I get it online. It's just fabulous!

I appreciate: That Butch is such a good sport when it comes to dealing with ALL the girls and their car issues. Currently, he's in the process of finding a new car for Morgan---who totaled hers. Now that Nicky's in the family, we thought he might prefer to handle it, but he was happy to defer to Butch. He is known for finding good cars and making good deals. He has his work cut out for him this time. Most cars he's looking at have nearly 100,000 miles already.

I regret: that we are out of firewood for the season. We still have a few nights that are definitely fire worthy.

How the weekend is shaping up: The weekend is going to be somewhat laid back with a little fun thrown in---happy hour on Friday and then that dinner on Saturday night.

I'd hoped to get to Nashville during my trip to the US later this year but will be flying out of Atlanta instead.
