Morgan--I can recognize her from her purple jacket. I think it's Olly and then Robbie.

This is the first year that the "kids" used the hot tub. Morgan and Jordan.
We had a great time as usual. Skiing is pretty tiring, but there's alway time for a game or two. They introduced me to a new and fun dice game called Qwixx. We played it several times. I'll be putting it on my Christmas list.
We were supposed to leave on Sunday, but the weather was going to be precarious. So, on Saturday morning Butch made the decision that we would leave that afternoon after everyone got one last full day of skiing. We wanted to get back to Denver and avoid the 6"-12" of snow predicted overnight. Other people had the same idea. As a result, it took us an extra hour to get to Denver.
On our last night, the "kids" take us to dinner as a "thank you" for taking them. They were able to pivot to a really nice Italian restaurant in Denver. The food was sooo good. We had a little of everything: brussell sprouts with pecans, meatballs and roasted red pepper bruschetta for appetizers. Morgan and I shared a salad with pears, cheese and oranges with a champagne vinaigrette dressing along with spinach, mushroom and cheese ravioli in a delicious cream sauce.
We all got a good night's sleep---well except for Olly and Morgan. They were able to change their flight which got them home 6 hours earlier--so they left the hotel around 4:15 a.m. The rest of us had breakfast at Denny's before heading to the airport. We got home about 5:30.
As much fun as it was, I'm ready for a travel break. In fact, Butch and I were going to go to the beach today. We just decided that we'd stay home instead. We're both fine with that decision. So, there won't be much "travel Tuesday" going on for at least another week, when I'll be heading to NYC with the girls.
For now, it feels good to be home.
I don't blame you for trying to avoid that extra snowfall! What a fun time you have together and what precious memories you are making.
ReplyDeleteYou can't beat good Italian food, what a great way to round off your trip.
