What I've Been Up To....

I spent last Monday and Tuesday helping my friend, Pam, get her scrapbook room set up. I forgot to take the "before" pictures on Monday. What you are seeing here is already how it looked by Tuesday. This was the biggest challenge of my career!

I was pretty overwhelmed right off the bat because she hauled all her stuff in before getting all of the other stuff out. It was a huge mess with no where to walk or even put things. We couldn't move the furniture as there was no room.  I didn't think we could get it done in two days, but we did. Of course, that didn't allow me to organize anything to the nth degree---not usually how I like to work. But as you can see, the end result is fabulous! At least she'll go through the holidays with it looking good. Just don't open the closet! The walls are lime green, they came out lighter in the photos. Here you can see her old camera collection and her grandmother's apron on the mannequin. Pam had been collecting her decorations and containers for the past two years. That's my favorite part---the decorating. I do it last---sort of like dessert after all the hard work is done. I just love organizing stuff!

About Me

My photo
Barbara Eads
I taught organizational classes for scrapbooking around the country---from organizing your space and supplies to your pictures, planning pages and getting ready for a scrapbook retreat. 15 years ago, I developed an in-depth photo organization workshop called "Making the Most of My Memories." Once the pictures were organized in a way that made it easy to access any photo at a moment's notice, "A Year of Memories" was the next natural step. Each month, I assign a topic and provide a kit of materials. The next month each person shares their layout with the group. It's so much fun to see how everyone interprets the theme and uses the same materials---yet each layout is completely different. At the end of the year, we each have a completed album. We're on year 15 now.
